The challenge word this time is "HURT"
I found this song by the band NINE INCH NAILS.
It comes from their album THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL.
It was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song
and has also been sung by Johnny Cash and Leona Lewis.
Its a bit morbid for me and look what its done to my poor Doodly Bird.

Oh no! Poor, poor doodly bird! :(
ReplyDeleteExcellently portrayed Lynn. I wonder what on earth she was doing messing about with nails! What a bird brain!, Haha; but I'm sure lots of TLC from the other Doodlies will get her twittering happily again in no time :o) xxx
Ouch, looks painful, but great idea. Love the song :)
ReplyDeleteOoohh! my foot is twinging in sympathy! Such a brilliant depiction!
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for the poor doodly bird. The things those poor birds go through for the sake of art! Love the depiction, though.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun drawing. Not sure I should say this but I love the spurting blood!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Elaine, it's a bit gory haha
DeleteGreat doodle bird, shame they couldn't see the nail but does give a great interpretation of the song:-) x
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of your doodle bird, I am a little sad that he's hurting but fantastically done with the nails.
ReplyDeletePoor little birdie! Love it though - very well "doodled"...:-)
ReplyDeleteA clever interpretation of an unusual song.
ReplyDeleteI don't know neither the band nor the song. Poor little birdie ;)
ReplyDeleteI do like your doodly bird.
ReplyDeleteWas it a nine inch nail? ouch! Off to check out the song, cannot remember if I have heard it before.
ReplyDeleteSylv xx
Ouchie! At least your doodly bird is nice and colorful!
ReplyDeleteOoh your poor doodle bird! That must have hurt lots. Your drawing is fab, I can't draw at all! Thank you for visiting me! xx
ReplyDeleteOuch !! Great quote and love your interpretation x
ReplyDeleteOh wow! What a song!!! Too cute a bird to get hurt ! patsy
ReplyDeleteOuch indeed... Poor little birdie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment and I'm glad you liked my "droopy" picture! By now I expect you will have caught up with my news that I have been diagnosed with bowel cancer and am about to have major surgery for the removal of the whole of my large bowel and the formation of an ileostomy. We've had an absolutely terrible time with my very difficult elderly mum and getting her into respite care while we deal with this, but hopefully now we will have the chance for some real rest and peace and quiet in order to face the ordeal to come.

Thank you for your lovely comment, Lynn - our hubbies are very longsuffering, aren't they, with the mess we make with our stuff. I am enjoying indulging in the creative process again after so long - I got to the stage when I thought Mr. Mojo had deserted me forever but I was very glad when he and Mrs. Muse decided to return from their extended break! Keep an eye on my blog over the next day or two and see the beautiful quilt I've been sent.

Thank you for your very kind words on my blog, Lynn! Got to keep going and keep my head above water, and above all, keep my spirits up.

Yikes! I can almost hear the bird's squawking!...and yet it is a bit funny too...am I warped?! anyway...haven't heard the song and always wondered about the name of that band...really sounds kind of scary. Your art work is quite fun though! happy T day!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment on my blog, Lynn - no need to be put to shame at all - one just has to get on with it, and having a positive attitude is so much better than caving and moaning and upsetting everyone!! I am so near the end of my treatment now and looking forward so much to getting back to normal again after my long and arduous journey this year. I am on a real creative buzz at the moment and looking forward to having more energy to spend up there doing things!
ReplyDeleteHope you are OK.
