Bit of an update...

I am still in the watercolour class of  TAMMY GARCIA over at 21 SECRETS.
I am not sure if you can get onto this link if you have not signed up for the course, but anyway give it a try
This was the blending class where we looked at what goes with what.
Next up our lesson was to work with stripes and words.
The following lesson that I completed today was to create WORD BUBBLES using watercolour paint and neocolour wax crayons .

As you can see Ive stuck with the vivid colour palette throughout the class and carried my embroidery theme throughout the whole of the course.

There is more to come from Tammy's class yet and at the end of it I will put all my pieces into a book I am making.

Don't forget to add your sketchbook pages to the flickr sight in the side bar so we can see what you are upto.

4TH CLASS OF ONLINE ART COURSE

I chose this class as I have not worked in watercolours and thought I would challenge myself. So I hooked upto to TAMMY GARCIA's - WATERCOLOUR PLAYGROUND.
Here is a link to her blog - www.daisyyellowart.com
Typical me went charging in like a bull in a china shop and didn't follow instruction properly, only realising when I had finished the piece.  The lesson was about BLENDING.  What did I do.... straight on the page with each colour instead of varying the intensity of each one and seeing what affect a wetter brush/drier brush would have.  Anyway not to worry I can always do another piece.
Lesson one was just a test piece to get us used to using the paints and a brush.
Once dry I added acrylic paint and a black liner pen to create stitch marks.  If you have read previous blog posts you will know I am sticking with an embroidery theme through out the course as it will act as design ideas for my stitchwork.
Forward thinking I thought this piece would make a nice book cover for the pages I will be doing over the next lessons in this class. Hope you like it and are feeling inspired.

Don't forget to add  your artwork to our FLICKR PAGE in the side bar.  Better do it myself  while I am thinking about it.

21 SECRETS ONLINE ART COURSE - Class 3

If you read the last posting you will have seen that I have started an online art course named 21 SECRETS.
Here are some pictures of the third class I have taken.  The teacher was CATHY BLUTEAU and the title of the class was DOODLING OUR WAY.
The aim was to build up a collaged picture using papers, pens, paints, whatever materials you wanted.  I am sticking with my embroidery theme and after photocopying some fabrics onto paper I then used the papers to make my picture.

Next I added acrylic paint and machine stitched over the whole piece then I went back over it with the paint and pin pricked different areas.

If anyone else is doing 21 SECRETS don't forget to post your photographs of your work on our FLICKR SITE the link is in the side bar
