QUOTES & LYRICS CHALLENGE 3 - MISS

I found this quote by American author and journalist Hunter Stockton Thompson who once said
" YOU CAN'T MISS WHAT YOU NEVER HAD"

He was also known as the creator of GONZO journalism which is a style of reporting where the reporters involve themselves in the action to such a degree that they become the central figure of the story.
Thompson did not lead a very healthy lifestyle (drugs) and did in fact kill himself with a gun in 2005.

NOW THAT YOU HAVE HAD THE DETAILS
Lets look at the lighter side of the quote.
Here is Dolores one of my Doodly Birds, she is known for being a fashionista.
She trawls the charity shops for bargains but now and again allows herself the luxury of window shopping in the better parts of town.  Today she spotted this rather splendid Gucci bag and sighed heavily to herself
"You can't miss what you never had"

The other GONZO we know is Dolores's on/off boyfriend who can't keep his beak out of anything.

Hope you enjoyed the read.

  1. Haha, this is fabulous Lynn. I love the stories you create for the Doodlies. Dolores is very sensible only window shopping these brand names. She'll get more for her pound in her regular haunts. And Gonzo is a handsome fellow, sitting high on his perch watching the day go by :o) xx

  7. I simply adore how you mix realism with stories you make up to fit your darling birds. What a wonderful way for me to learn. Seems I learn something new each time I visit you. And of course, the quote is so, so true, and your darling Dolores makes it even more enjoyable.

  9. What fun, Lynn! There is real character in those birdies and I can imagine just what sort of a lad her on-off boyfriend is lol!! Beautifully drawn too.

Thanks for your visit and your lovely comment. Beatrice is sleeping a lot which I am sure is aiding her recovery. Still no word from the vet about her test results.

Keep an eye on my blog for future posts about my teabag art - still working on the videos, and I am planning an art journal page using them.
